Contest Theme

So we all know about global warming. We all know about the environment and natural resources being obliterated. I don't think I have to tell anybody what's up considering this has been in the news for years. This planet is just a mess because of we little (many) humans.

So coming from a guy who grew up thinking it was ok to toss cigarette butts on the ground because that's what daddy did, I can assure you I've spent most of my life not being the model citizen in keeping it GREEN. But I have been doing little things for the past 5 years or so. It still wasn't much.

I've been on a mission to get as GREEN as possible as of late! Recycling, buying non-toxic bio-degradable materials, buying clothes from thrift stores instead of buying new, biking or walking to places. I spent many years in NYC so walking was what I usually did. But since moving away, my car has been my main mode of transportation. I did at least trade in my Mustang for a Toyota with better gas mileage. I'm still waiting for a better car and better energy supply to run it. One day I hope! One day I soon I bet....


YOUR MISSION!

Create a piece of art that shows you are trying to do something for the environment!

It can be:
- Sculpture
- Painting
- Drawing
- Photo
- Digital Artwork
- Collage
- Story
- Poetry
- Anything else

It could be an image of your character planting a tree or wearing thrift store clothing or pick up trash or eating people who pollute! Anything at all!

THERE ARE ENDLESS IDEAS!

If you have trouble thinking of something, you can always ask around (or ask me) for some ideas! (:

BUT HERE'S THE CATCH!!!! It must be created with all recycled materials (or on the computer because it doesn't require paper. But of course you can use recycled paper)!!!!







Rules/Guidelines:

~ Entry must have to do with Protecting Our Earth!!!
~ You must turn in an entry in order to get a prize
~ You may enter only ONE piece, but it is highly encouraged that if you like this project to keep doing more in order to spread the word!
~ You must post a link to this journal in your entry submission (so that others may see and enter if they wish! SPREAD THE WORD!)
~ PLEASE PLEASE use recyclable materials if you can! DO NOT buy any new supplies! Unless it is at a thrift store or any other establishment that offers used items. Go to some garage sales if you have to!
~ It MUST be a piece that was created just for this contest so you may not enter old pieces of art.
